Children
Babies and children are always welcome in
worship at Center Church. A nursery area is available in the basement
of the Meeting House; however, formal nursery care for infants through
age three is provided during the church school year in the Church House
at 60 Gold Street. Weekly church school classes for children in preschool
through junior high school are also held from the Sunday after Labor Day
until the Sunday before Memorial Day. Classes meet from 10:30 until
11:45 a.m. Though most instructional time is spent in classrooms
in the Church House, we feel it is important that students have an exposure
to and understanding of the elements of intergenerational worship and of
the larger Center Church community. The children also participate
in communion with their families in the Meeting House several times a year.
Youth
Confirmation classes are held for
children in junior high school. Once they are confirmed, they attend
and participate in worship at the Meeting House. Youth are also
involved in other educational programs and service projects throughout
the year.
