From I-84 East:
Take Exit 48-B (Capitol Avenue). At
the end of the exit, turn left onto Capitol Avenue. Continue on Capitol
Avenue through three lights. At the fourth light, turn left onto Main
Street. Continue on Main Street through three lights. Center Church
is at the corner of Main and Gold Streets, on the left side of Main
Street, immediately after the third light.
From I-84 West and Route 2:
For I-84 travelers, take Exit 54,
marked “Downtown Hartford.” For Route 2 travelers, follow signs to Downtown
Hartford. Then, for both: Go through the first and second traffic lights,
passing to the left of the Old State House building, which will be on
your right. At the third light, turn left onto Main Street. Center Church
is on your right.
From I-91:
Take Exit 29-A (Capitol Area) [for
those traveling via I-91 Northbound, please note that this is a left
exit]. Follow this road (the Whitehead-Conlin Highway) to its terminus
at the traffic circle. Once in the circle, bear right onto Wells Street
(Bushnell Park will be on your left). Continue on Wells Street through
one traffic light, keeping to the right. At the next intersection, turn
right onto Gold Street. Center Church is at the top of the street, at
the corner of Gold and Main streets.
PARKING
On Sundays, free parking often is available
in the Travelers Tower Garage, accessible via its entrance on Atheneum
Square North (the continuation of Gold Street on the Travelers Tower
side of Main Street). IMPORTANT: The Travelers Tower Garage has high-speed
doors, which remain closed except during access. To enter the garage,
please drive down the ramp. The attendant will open the doors upon your
arrival. Tell the attendant that you are going to Center Church.
For weeknight events (Monday through
Friday), free (validated) parking is available from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.
in the garage adjacent to One Financial Plaza (the “Gold Building” –
755 Main Street), via its entrance on Pearl Street.
Street parking is available for all
events. Check signs and meters for posted tow zones and any meter fees.
