Hands on Hartford/Center City Churches
In partnership with over a dozen churches, the programs of Hands on Hartford/Center City Churches work toward strengthening the downtown Hartford community, and form the core of our outreach ministry. These include the MANNA community food pantry, tutoring at Sanchez and Betances Schools, a monthly Soup and Services offering, work with homeless persons, and support of Peter’s Retreat (a home for persons with H.I.V./AIDS). United Church of Christ, Connecticut Conference
The Conference
provides Center Church with professional guidance and assistance. The
Wider Mission of United Church of Christ (UCC) sends missionaries overseas
to teach and to heal. The denomination works locally and globally toward
the goal of justice and compassion for all God’s people. For more information,

Christian Activities Council
This organization seeks to create
a practical vision of social witness, social development and social reform
in the city of Hartford. Acting as the urban mission arm of all Connecticut
Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC) churches, programs
include working with city residents in areas of housing and neighborhood
revitalization. For

Greater Hartford Interfaith Coalition for Equity and Justice
This diverse, faith-based
organization works through legislative advocacy and reform and community
action and renewal to achieve a just and righteous community for every adult
